1) Winter Quarters Studio
Back after an extended holiday break, feeling refreshed and rested.
Landed in winter quarters. After getting the fridge stocked, set up the winter quarters studio. Prince Charming outdid himself with this year's winter quarters selection!
I'm in heaven with my dedicated space, good lighting, and a great view.
Let the painting and writing begin.

3) You Belong
"You belong. Everywhere. Yes, you—with all your history, anxiety, pain. Yes, everywhere—in every culture, community, circumstance. You belong in this body. You belong in this very moment. You belong in this breath…and this one. You have always belonged."
SEBENE SELASSIE
New Year, same old me. You too?
The good news is that we're like water. The light is always catching some new wonder. We're never really the same old, tired version of ourselves. Every day, we find new ways to shimmer.
Here's another work in progress. I'm trying to catch the light in the clouds at the end of the day.

5) Better Late Than Never
Despite my best intentions, illness ruined my December plans. January is giving me a fresh start, and I'm sending out New Year's Cards with the freshness of a new day and year.
These are signed prints of original artworks. If you signed up for one and have been wondering what happened, the first batch went in the mail yesterday, and the second batch will go out next week.
6) Key Lime

I love the name Key Lime. It suggests a musical note: in the key of lime.
A citrusy adventure with a hint of tropical. A zest I associate with the clear cold of January days in the north. Key limes hint at a world larger than a frozen January windswept prairie.
Thanks, Barbara Zankl Pecce, for your Southern generosity of spirit in sharing your home-grown Key Limes with this refugee from the north.

The citrus aisle of the local grocery store is such a good reminder to this landlocked, windswept dweller that the world is bigger than my narrow perspective. Here's a permission slip to touch and smell all that luscious fruit as needed.
I love your comments about key limes, the musical association and the hint of something warm and tropical. The bleak midwinter is hard for me, and I love the reminder that the world is not all the dreary I see outside the window. I can borrow strength from that until the warm, sunny days come back. And they will.
