1) Stormy Weather
"The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one’s life…Through a difficult period you can learn; you can develop inner strength, determination, and courage to face the problems." H. H. the 14th Dalai Lama.
When the storm clouds gather, it's good to remember, you've survived other storms.
2)🌿 An Invitation to Quest 🌿

Looking for a little more wonder in your week? Two of the Cedar Valley’s creative forces—Angela Waseskuk of the Cedar Falls Public Library and Caylin Jayde of the Hearst Center for the Arts—have launched Nature Quest, a year-long, choose-your-own-adventure into nature, creativity, and community.
Though it kicked off in May, it’s not too late to join this twice-monthly journey!
Here’s what’s in store:
🌱 Monthly speakers and guided events
📚 A nature-inspired reading list
🎨 A collaborative art journaling project
🧭 Field trips and like-minded community connections
When & Where?
🗓 First Tuesdays – Lecture & demonstration at the Cedar Falls Public Library (pre-registration required)
🗓 Third Tuesdays – Art journaling sessions at the Hearst Center for the Arts
Each participant shapes their own path—whether you're in it for reflection, adventure, or a little of both.
✨ Come curious. Leave inspired. The quest awaits.
3) Three Generations. One Train.
Infinite Memories.
As a birthday gift, we’re treating our granddaughter to a journey steeped in family tradition—an Amtrak train ride to St. Louis.
It’s more than a trip. It’s a thread connecting decades: Prince Charming once rode these rails across the country as a boy. Years later, I brought my own children to St. Louis for vacations. And now, our granddaughter becomes the next traveler in this family story.
We're not just riding trains—we're riding through time. Past to present, and onward to future chapters.
Take a deep breath—you’re walking into a brand-new week, and good things are waiting for you to notice them.
